Ferragamo – Capsule Jewellery Collection Launched
Looking for the perfect way to accessorize your way through the summers? Florence-based design house Salvatore Ferragamo and Los Angeles based artist Daniela Villegas celebrate their love for nature and travel by launching a new capsule women’s jewellery collection together. Using complex craftsmanship and exquisite materials the theme for the collection is the freedom to explore and is shown by using birds as the symbol to express this theme.
The Inspiration
The tropical coloured birds and wildlife seen in the collection have come from Salvatore’s shoes and scarves collection from the late 1950s. Daniela Villegas loves nature and has always been inspired by it, making this a perfect collaboration.

“I believe the answer is simple. I believe that it is due to nature, I discovered these exciting years that nature heals her own wounds when she is given her freedom.” – This is what Salvatore Ferragamo said that inspired Daniela Villegas to draw her collection.

“I have always been inspired by nature. It’s what I believe in, where I learn, and where I find my answers,”
“It’s where I go to reconnect with the world, be in peace, it makes me happy. The bird is a symbol of freedom. They soar high into the sky. They’re a symbol of eternal life.”
It is an 8-piece collection which features parakeets, parrots and birdcages which will retail for $240 to $10,000. They have been crafted by Italian goldsmiths and are in sterling silver, topaz, amethyst, gold, and diamonds.
In this collection there are four categories: earrings, rings, necklaces and bracelets which have the birds and cages seen on them and some have green topaz and deep purple amethyst stones. Ferragamo’s collection can’t be complete without his signature Gancio emblem which is a round horseshoe-like design and it is seen throughout the collection.
