Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are on their seven-day tour of India aimed at building up strong bond with the two countries. Let’s find out Kate Middleton’s outfits for day one in India where she has made quite an appearance.
Prince William says “When Catherine and I got married, India was the first place on her list that she told me that she wanted to visit”.
They arrived in Mumbai on Sunday, April 10th and with three outfits during her first day of her trip, the Duchess of Cambridge has given us a glimpse of how she is going to balance her favourite British designers and embrace Indian ones too.
Kate Middleton – Looks from Day 1
Look Number One
To start of the trip, we saw Kate in her favourite British designer, Alexander McQueen. The couple visited the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, one of the sites attacked by terrorists in 2008. To complete this look she wore the Temple of Heaven Gold earrings, a Russell and Bromley curvy nude suede clutch and LK Bennett Fern pumps.
Look Number Two
Their next stop was at the Oval Maiden Park where they met children from local charities and she also got a chance to show off her cricket skills with India’s cricket hero, Sachin Tendulkar. Kate Middleton was seen wearing a dress by one of India’s well-known designers, Anita Dongre. It was a silk printed tunic with inspiration from Rajasthan’s rich heritage. It is spot on with the trend for this summer, the bohemian style flared look.

Look Number Three
Coming on to the last look of her day, the Royal Couple attended the Bollywood Charity Gala in Mumbai and she picked a royal blue floor length gown by one her favourite designers Jenny Packham. The embroidery of her gown was however done by artisans in India, creating a stunning look and the perfect fusion of the style of her home and host nation. She accessorised the gown with a sheer shawl in a matching blue and a clutch in the same shade. What we loved about her outfit was how well her lapis and diamond earrings by Indian jewellery designer Amrapali was going with her look. Kate wore a pair of black suede wavy strap sandal by Prada with her gown and she was looking absolutely stunning!
I think the first day has set the tone as to what we will see her wearing during the coming week, it sure is going to be a pleasure to see what her wardrobe has to offer for India.
