This Old Model Proves That Fashion, Beauty & Style Are Ageless

Dell’Orefice started her career as a model when she was only 15 and was first pictured on the cover of Vogue in 1917.

“I’ve always considered myself a silent actress” said the 85-year-old model.

If anyone has shown that it’s possible to turn a fashion editorial into fine art, it’s this lady. With a profession covering more than 70 years, Dell’Orefice has actually been photographed by everyone from Jerry Schatzberg to Horst P. Horst and strolled the runway for designers from John Galliano and Isaac Mizrahi.

Unfortunately, however, part of the factor Dell’Orefice has continued to work for so long is that about six years ago she learned she ‘d been a victim of Bernie Madoff’s notorious ponzi scheme and had lost her life’s fortune.

“What I had left was myself,” she said of her return to fashion. “I let my industry know that I would like to work.” Since then she has not stopped working and she has been running the show.
